Orio Arraunketa Elkartea launched its 11th Beer Festival yesterday afternoon, honoring Zumaia surfer Janire Gonzalez-Etxabarri and San Sebastián swimmer Richard Oribe with the Mirotza Awards.

As every year, the event recognized athletes who have excelled at the highest level. Journalist Iker Gururrutxaga hosted the ceremony, noting that although both honorees may not have a direct connection to rowing, they practice sports closely related to water, achieving significant international success.
Both athletes received commemorative gifts crafted by Iñaki Arrillaga. First, the young surfer, followed by the veteran swimmer. Oribe thanked the town and club of Orio, stating it was an honor to receive the award, and concluded by shouting "¡Aupa Orio!".
Gonzalez-Etxabarri also expressed her gratitude for the award and the warm reception from her hometown: "I never imagined they would think of me when presenting the Mirotza Award," she stated.
