The campaign aims to enable participants, organized in small groups, to practice Basque in a relaxed atmosphere and without fear of making mistakes. Each person will have the opportunity to learn at their own pace.
The Mintzalagun groups began meeting in late September and early October, and they organize various activities such as having coffee, walking, speaking in the local dialect, going to the mountains, or chatting. Additionally, weekend getaways for families are organized in Tertanga, with the collaboration of Urtxintxa Eskola of Bizkaia. Online groups will start in November, and summer groups will meet from late June to September.
The facilitators also organize other open activities to enjoy Basque in leisure time, including conversation events (mintzodromos), cooking workshops, guided museum tours, and talks. The Praktikatu project is active in 105 municipalities, with groups in Urola Kosta, specifically in Zumaia, Getaria, Zarautz, and Orio.
To participate in the program, individuals must be at least 16 years old and, if they are Basque learners, have a B1 level or higher. Registration can be done on the website emanizena.praktikatu.eus, and the program is free of charge.
