In Anoeta, Berastegi, on the bridge between Zizurkil and Villabona, Asteasu, and Tolosa, citizens of the region have protested the sexist murder of a 44-year-old woman from Arguedas.

At the gathering in Asteasu, the aim was to express «anger and sorrow». It was recalled that sexist violence has already killed four women this year, and a «enough is enough» was proclaimed, emphasizing that the data shows «a harsh and unbearable reality».
Protesters made it clear that what happened is not an «isolated act of a deranged man», but a reflection of a structural problem fueled by the «cisheteropatriarchal, capitalist, racist, and colonial system». They denounced that this system places women and dissident bodies in a more vulnerable, dependent, and defenseless position, highlighting the intersection of multiple axes of oppression.
Faced with the severity of the situation, they demanded «real urgent measures» addressed to institutions and society as a whole. «There are enough nice words and protocols; it is time to move from words to action», they stated.
Advocating for Feminist Self-Defense as a tool, they called to «take to the streets and organize», expressing their exhaustion.
