The City Council of Amezketa has more than doubled the capacity of its nursery school, increasing the number of places from 10 to 21. This measure responds to the high birth rate registered in the municipality in 2025 and reaffirms the commitment to meeting the needs of families.
Previously, the nursery had 10 places for children aged 0-1 and 1-2 years. To address this demand, the council decided to acquire and adapt the adjacent premises, thereby expanding the space and significantly increasing the number of available spots.
After completing all the work and procedures, the Department of Education has approved the new layout and organization of the Amezketa nursery. Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, the nursery will feature a unit with 8 places for 0-1 year-olds and another unit with 13 places for 1-2 year-olds, totaling 21 places.
The City Council stated that the high birth rate in 2025 highlighted a need that required this investment. The goal is to create better conditions for families in Amezketa to live, grow, and build their future in the town.
