The Bilbao City Council organizes the BAD–Festival de Teatro y Danza Contemporánea, celebrating its 28th edition until October 25th, showcasing innovative proposals in contemporary theatre, dance, and dramaturgy.

The Bilbao venue La Fundición hosted the absolute premiere of "Parkuir" by Maria Laudes González and Guiu Gimeno Bardis, an artistic project inspired by Parkour that reinterprets themes of sexual, gender, and bodily dissidence. It also featured the Euskadi premiere of "Cat Care Calling" by Raffaella Menchetti and Giselda Ranieri, which explores transforming the violence of 'cat-calling' into care through gesture.
Additionally, La Fundición's stage served as the venue for presenting the works-in-progress by creators selected for Bilbao Eszena 2026's "Artists in Residence" program. Iara Solano shared her project "Actos reflejos," and Ángela Millano presented "Orro."
BAD Bilbao, running until October 25th, includes six absolute premieres, one at the state level, and four Euskadi premieres in its program, featuring works from 17 different companies (six Basque, seven Spanish, and four international).
The full program is available on the BAD Bilbao website.
