Belaustegi Baserria, a historic 15th-century farmhouse in Elgoibar, specializes in wedding celebrations, offering nature, high-end gastronomy, and a personal touch.

Organizing a wedding is undoubtedly one of the most exciting moments in a couple's life. However, finding a venue that combines nature, high-class gastronomy, and a personal touch is not always easy. In Elgoibar, nestled in a privileged natural environment, lies Belaustegi Baserria, a 15th-century farmhouse that has reinvented the concept of wedding celebrations, moving away from traditional standards.
As Xabi Albizu, head of hall and events, explains, Belaustegi has a clear philosophy: "No two couples are the same, therefore, no two weddings should be the same."
By choosing Belaustegi for their 'I do' — whether following a religious ceremony or a civil ceremony held on their premises — couples secure an idyllic setting. For the big day, the couple enjoys exclusive use of the impressive main dining room, built with stone and wood, as well as the marquee and main gardens. This layout creates a perfect bubble of intimacy for enjoying the cocktail reception outdoors and the banquet, while the farmhouse maintains its usual operations, hosting other diners in its private, independent dining areas.

"At Belaustegi, we avoid set menus; we design the gastronomy from scratch with the couple"

Chef Josu
If Gipuzkoa is known for anything, it's for its discerning palate, and at Belaustegi's kitchens, chef Josu does not disappoint. There are no fixed or prefabricated menus here. The gastronomic proposal is designed from scratch together with the couple, based on their personal tastes, seasonal produce, and connection to the land.
The main dining room has an ideal capacity for 110 guests seated in a traditional format. However, for couples with more extensive guest lists (up to 160 or 180 people), the farmhouse has perfected the dynamic cocktail-style wedding format. This is a modern and social alternative where the dining room, marquee, and garden connect, allowing guests to interact freely while enjoying a menu specifically designed for this more relaxed style.
"Our ultimate goal is for the newlyweds to only worry about enjoying and toasting," emphasizes Albizu. The team manages the coordination of timings and logistics for the big day, giving the couple complete freedom to bring their own suppliers (music, decoration) or recommending trusted professionals. Belaustegi is open to celebrating weddings where history, the green of our mountains, and haute cuisine come together at the same table.
