The Zumaia City Council has called upon local groups and organizations to lend their support for the main events of the upcoming Euskal Jai Eguna on August 7th. Specifically, they are seeking volunteers for the communal meal and the cider tasting. Those interested in helping with these activities must register before July 10, 2024. Registration can be done at the Alondegia cultural center, by calling 943 86 10 56, or by emailing [kultura@zumaia.eus](mailto:kultura@zumaia.eus).
Volunteers will be responsible for preparing the infrastructure and tools needed to serve the meal for 400 people. Their duties will also include managing tickets, overseeing guest entry, serving the food, and finally, cleaning up the area.
For the cider tasting event, cider from ten local producers will be distributed. Volunteers will be tasked with setting up stalls, selling glasses, serving the cider, and cleaning the premises.
The council has stated that local associations operating on a non-profit basis are eligible to participate in this call for volunteers. A meeting will be organized for the registered organizations to provide necessary explanations and conduct a draw among the groups.
