Furthermore, last weekend, the Gipuzkoa Absolute Championship was held at the Uranzu fronton, organized by the Bidasoa Halterofilia Taldea. ZKE Halterofilia participated with 19 athletes, achieving excellent results in both category classifications and the overall standings. In total, the club produced six Gipuzkoa champions.
In the women's category, seven ZKE athletes ranked among the top ten in the overall classification, securing the first three positions. In the men's category, three athletes placed within the top ten. This championship served as a qualifier for the Euskadi Absolute Championship, which will take place on May 23rd in Vitoria-Gasteiz, with the top ten qualifiers directly earning their spot to participate.
The youth academy is also showing great promise, having achieved excellent results in the Euskadi Technical Championship (U15 and U17) held on April 18th in Zarautz. Moreover, five athletes from ZKE Halterofilia will participate in the Spanish U17 Championship, scheduled for May 23rd in Alcañiz.
According to the club, the goals set for 2026 are being met. The women's honor division team is maintaining its position among the top ten in the state in its first year and is on track to qualify for the Queen's Cup in November. The men's team, meanwhile, is progressing towards its goal of remaining in the first division. The second women's team (2nd division) is among the top four classified, and the U17 and U15 girls' teams also hold prominent positions.
