In the Gipuzkoa Batel League, ten boats from the Zarautz Arraun Elkartea participated. While the promise and junior rowers competed in almost all regattas, the youth and senior categories did not participate in all, as they continued training in trainera boats.
The most notable result was achieved by the male cadets, who finished in fourth position, having been third until the last regatta. In the Gipuzkoa Championship, the junior girls were sixth, the promise boys fourth, the youth girls third, and the senior women second.
Last weekend, at the Basque Country Championship held in Sestao, three teams qualified for the finals. The promise boys competed in the B final, where, after a close battle with their main league rivals, San Pedro and Hibaika, they secured third place.
In the main final, the youth and absolute women's teams fought for medals. All races were very tight. The youth team missed out on bronze by less than a second, and the absolute team, despite putting immense pressure on the San Juan team, secured a valuable silver medal.
This Saturday, the trainerilla league will begin on the Oria River, and the Zarautz-Gesalaga-Okelan team will participate with two male cadet boats, one female cadet boat, and three senior male boats. The trainerillas will also have an appointment on Sunday, as the San Telmo Trophy will be held in Zumaia, with the participation of the youth women and senior men.
Furthermore, this Wednesday, the annual ordinary assembly of the ZAE will be held in the rowing pit that the ZAE has in the sports center. It will start at 6:30 PM, and the evaluations of the previous year and forecasts for the current year will be presented there.
