The Orio Council and the Orio Rowing Club have reached a collaborative agreement to ensure equality and athlete well-being, implementing an action plan for the 2026-2028 period.

The framework is built upon five core pillars: gender equality, violence prevention, physical and mental health, inclusion, and the active voice of athletes. Both organizations emphasized that dialogue and self-criticism have been the foundation for addressing ongoing challenges within the sports sector.
This initiative follows public statements made by female rowers in October 2025. The local government noted that these testimonies highlighted long-standing inequalities in sports, such as the uneven distribution of resources and limited media visibility.
The process was supported by specialized external consultancy services. The club has demonstrated a commitment to learning from past events and creating tools for the future, using athlete feedback as a catalyst for organizational improvement.
