The Traineras Clubs Association (TKE) has fined six clubs 2,000 euros each for refusing to participate in the Fabrika Bandera, scheduled to take place in Donostia.

The Sole Disciplinary Judge has announced the resolution of the extraordinary proceedings concerning the Fabrika Bandera, which was due to be held on July 25th in Donostia. The sanctioned clubs are Orio, Zumaia, Astillero, Arraun Lagunak, Hibaika, and Tolosaldea. The judge stated that they committed a "serious infraction" under article 14, section f) of the TKE Disciplinary Regulations, which penalizes "actions and public statements that harm the image or interests of the association and its governing bodies".
The context for this decision was the adverse weather conditions. Due to strong gusts of wind and the sea state, the coaches of the Euskotren league teams decided not to race the women's Fabrika Bandera, prioritizing the safety of the rowers. This decision was not favored by the TKE technical committee, which advocated for the regatta to proceed despite the coaches' opinions.
At that point, out of the eight clubs present at the Donostia regatta course, six had decided not to launch their boats; only San Juan and Donostiarra took to the water. Faced with this situation, the technical committee decided to cancel the regatta. In the following days, the TKE initiated disciplinary proceedings against the six clubs that had refused to compete.
This resolution concludes the disciplinary process. The clubs now have a period of three working days, starting from the day after receiving the notification, to file an appeal with the TKE Arbitrator.
