The Orio Rowing Club (OAE) has reached a historic landmark this weekend, increasing its total number of victories to over one thousand. This achievement was marked by the win secured on Saturday at the XXIV Mutriku Flag regatta in Mutriku (Gipuzkoa).
Orio competed in the third heat of the race, alongside Zierbena, Donostiarra, and Hondarribia. Crossing the finish line with the fastest time of 20:06.54, they emerged as the quickest boat of the day. They were followed by Donostiarra, with a time of 20:17.59, and Getaria secured third place with 20:19.06.
The Gipuzkoa-based club achieved its first victory in 1901. Since then, the OAE has amassed a significant number of titles, flags, and trophies, both in the trainera category and across all modalities. Specifically, the men's teams have registered 829 wins, while the women's teams have accumulated 171.
