Azkoitia's Andremari festivals halfway through with institutional events and festive atmosphere

Marking San Roque day, citizens are out enjoying the festivities with mass, giants, and concerts.

Azkoitia's Andremari festivals reach their halfway point with San Roque day, as citizens immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere with institutional, religious, and cultural events.

With the arrival of San Roque day, this year's Andremari festivals have reached their halfway point in Azkoitia. Following the rhythm of the initial days, residents continue to participate in the festivities, and a festive atmosphere was palpable throughout the town in the morning. At midday, the municipal corporation, a mass, and the parade of giants and cabezudos were the main events.
In the morning's institutional events, municipal representatives from the PNV and PSE-EE attended the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, accompanied by the txistu group Txalkor. Following the mass at 11:00 AM, the mayor and council members returned to the main square. Meanwhile, giants and cabezudos took to the streets, also visiting the San Martín neighborhood, much to the delight of many residents.
Around 12:00 PM, a crowd gathered in the square, where some municipal representatives performed the traditional aurresku dance for the attendees. Subsequently, various residents and members of Sahatsa participated in a dance event. Following this, members of the Music Band and the pipers from Zubiondo presented a concert at Kontzejupea.
The txosna area also features a full-day program. The atmosphere was evident by midday, with several people preparing paella for lunch while enjoying a drink. Later, they gathered at the txosnas for the meal, with events scheduled from the afternoon into the night.
Numerous events are scheduled for the coming hours. Today's program includes: at 4:00 PM, a water park in Balda square; at 4:30 PM, La Ruina, in the txosna area; at 6:00 PM, Elektrokelare performance, in the txosna area; at 7:00 PM, the semi-final of the 16th Women's Euskal Herria Cup between the first teams of Real Sociedad and Eibar, at the Txerloia football field; at 7:00 PM, the Freshcool show, in the church atrium, by the company Tio Teronen Semeak.
In the evening, at 9:15 PM, the group Sukena will perform in the town square, followed by fireworks at 11:00 PM, presented by Vulcano. At 11:30 PM, singer Bengo will give a concert in the square. From 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM, a service for preventing and reducing risks associated with drug consumption, along with the Gune Morea, will be available in front of the parish. Finally, at 1:00 AM, performances by groups GZKL and Lurrikara will take place in the txosna area, followed by Txumba at 2:00 AM.
