The itinerant council of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council visited Alegia yesterday. Representatives of the provincial institution learned firsthand about the current situation of the municipality from Mayor Regina Sorarrain. The meeting took place in the town hall's plenary hall.
As Sorarrain stated, yesterday's visit was not an unusual event, and she emphasized the almost constant relationship between the Alegia City Council and the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, stating that yesterday's session was a reflection of that collaboration.
The Deputy General Eider Mendoza and Mayor Regina Sorarrain held a meeting, discussing various projects that Alegia has underway. Afterwards, they also made a visit to the town to gather information on-site about some of the ongoing projects. In fact, in many of the works being carried out in various infrastructures in Alegia recently, the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council also participates, making financial contributions.
Within the framework of the Intxausti Centenary being celebrated this year, the provincial representatives also had the opportunity to see a sample of the photographic exhibition that will be opened in the town hall's attic in the coming weeks. The Intxausti family has donated 200,000 images to the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council from the period 1913-2003, and Eider Mendoza wished to express her recognition and gratitude to the family members.
