Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS), the public entity of the Department of Sustainable Mobility of the Basque Government, has awarded a contract for 133,866.06 euros for the renovation of the lobby at the Irun Colón station.

The Irun Colón station is the third busiest on the Topo line in terms of passenger numbers. The project aims to expand the lobby's capacity, improve user circulation, enhance safety and comfort, and adapt the infrastructure to current demand, thereby improving service quality.
The works, with a three-month execution period, include civil engineering, demolitions, construction of new partitions and interior layouts, renovation of flooring, carpentry, painting, and adaptation of the public service office.
Additionally, lighting will be improved, and systems for validating and cancelling transport tickets will be installed and relocated.
In 2025, the terminal registered a total of 2,505,000 cancellations.
