The Ziortza-Bolibar City Council intends to set a milestone in the organization of the town, and for this purpose, has initiated a participatory process called 'Ziortza-Bolibar denONA'. The main goal of this initiative is the collective planning of public spaces —squares, parks, and streets— with the aim of transforming the town into a more accessible, safe, and pleasant place for gathering and care.
The project seeks to go beyond traditional urban planning, placing special emphasis on sustainable mobility, active aging, and the health and well-being of citizens. The council has highlighted that the success of this process does not lie in the hands of experts, but in the daily experience of the residents. Therefore, they aim to gather the "perspectives and experiences" of all people living in the town to make the process as rich as possible.
Participation channels are already open; from April 15, citizens can complete a questionnaire, either digitally or through a paper version distributed in household mailboxes.
“"The success of this process does not lie in the hands of experts, but in the daily experience of the residents. Therefore, we seek to gather the perspectives and experiences of all people living in the town."
However, the main event of the initiative will be next April 24. On that day, an open session will be held at the town hall, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, aimed at all residents over 12 years of age. The session will begin with a brief training, and subsequently, discussion tables will be organized for group work. Through this dynamic, the Ziortza-Bolibar City Council aims to design a town model that better responds to the community's needs, with citizens themselves becoming the main architects of future spaces.
