The PNV has denounced the "lamentable state" of the local road in Ondarroa connecting the Kamiñazpi and Errenteria neighborhoods. The Jeltzale party has warned that "institutional lack of maintenance" has led this road to a "limit situation," posing a "direct danger" to users.
The Jeltzales directly blame the governing team of EH Bildu, stating that the road's upkeep has depended on local funds for years and that its management has been "clearly insufficient." The passage of time and lack of investment have caused progressive deterioration with "deep potholes and ground subsidence," affecting both motorized vehicles and cyclists.
The situation has also raised alarms among residents. "Many neighbors have approached us to convey their complaints about the condition of this road," explained Aitor Basterretxea, municipal spokesperson for the PNV. For the Jeltzale representative, it is "unacceptable" that a municipal infrastructure "jeopardizes public safety" due to a lack of necessary repair work.

"Citizen safety cannot become a secondary issue. It is necessary to act before an accident with irreversible consequences occurs."

Faced with this scenario, the opposition urges the government team to react before a "major tragedy" occurs. "Citizen safety cannot become a secondary issue. It is necessary to act before an accident with irreversible consequences occurs," stressed Basterretxea. The party insists that if the City Council urgently allocates the necessary resources, the road can be restored to "optimal conditions".
Finally, the PNV has formally requested the presentation of an "urgent action plan" to thoroughly assess the road's damage. The priority objective, they conclude, is the "immediate execution of repair works" to ensure that Ondarroa's infrastructure is once again "safe for everyone".
