Asier Rodriguez Lopez, a political prisoner from Santurtzi, has been granted conditional release this Tuesday by order of the Central Penitentiary Surveillance Court. As reported by the association Etxerat, he has spent 15 years in prison. He obtained third-grade status in 2023 and has been serving his sentence remotely since February 2024.

Etxerat, the Association of Families and Friends of Basque Political Prisoners and Fugitives, states that among its members, there are currently 64 political prisoners incarcerated and 36 who are serving their sentences from home under monitoring measures.
