The Ertzaintza arrested a 50-year-old man on Monday in Abanto-Zierbena for a home invasion and intimidation, after he allegedly entered a residence through a window and threatened the occupants with scissors.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM on Monday at a house in Abanto-Zierbena. The couple residing there, a 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both Spanish nationals, returned home to find a window open, the interior disturbed, and a man inside.
The victims saw the man with his pockets full of coins and bills. A broken piggy bank, containing approximately 500 euros in cash, lay on the floor. When they confronted him, the man brandished scissors and advanced towards them. He struggled with the couple to escape the house and fled after assaulting them.
Upon being alerted, Ertzaintza officers arrived in the vicinity. Shortly after, they located the alleged perpetrator in a nearby area – a 50-year-old Spanish national – who was arrested for alleged robbery with intimidation.
The arrested individual, who has prior police records for similar offenses, was taken to an Ertzaintza station for processing and to be brought before the court.
