The Zeberio City Council and local stakeholders, led by the Festival Committee and the Youth Association, have prepared an extensive program for the Sandoniak festivities, to be held from September 2nd to 7th. The program includes a wide range of activities for all residents, such as musical performances, gastronomic competitions, children's games, and special events.
The Youth Txosna, organized by the Youth Association, will feature various activities, including a fire bull, DJ Radiopatio, couple's games, Marianito pintxada, and a macaroni meal. Additionally, a free night taxi service will be available on the night of September 5th, covering the route from Ugao to Igoerre between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM. Those wishing to use the service should call 609 610 855.
Among the main novelties this year is the show by Pirritx, Porrotx, and Marimotots titled ‘Zerua lapurtu digute’, organized for the youngest members of the community. The festivities will commence with official events such as a mass and a reception, followed by trikitilaris and children's games. On the main day, September 3rd, there will be a txupinazo (opening rocket), txubel and buruhandiak (traditional figures), and a concert by the group Eingo.
Competitions for Makailo, Potato Omelette, and Paella will take place on September 5th, with concerts in the afternoon and evening, including performances by EH Sukarra and Kiliki. The festivities will conclude on September 7th with the Indaba jana (bean stew) and the Rockalean elektrotxaranga.
Furthermore, the Zeberio-based group Tukanon will perform a concert at Bilbao's Aste Nagusia on August 27th, at the Euskalgunea. The group consists of Marina Urigoitia Aldekoak (Artea), Ibon Igartua Libaronak (Zeberio), Iban Sandonis Oleagak (Zeberio), and Iñigo Gallastegi Zorrillak (Zeberio), and it is part of their 'Ezin geldiTour' tour.
Additionally, other bands from the Hego Uribe region will participate in Bilbao's festivities: Overall Metalband from Basauri, Itziar Ituño's group Ingot, Gautegun Erromeria from Arrigorriaga, and Akerbeltz from Zaratamo will also perform concerts at the Txosnas during Bilbao's Aste Nagusia.
The residents of Urizarre will celebrate San Bartolome Eguna on August 24th, with a mass and reception. Similarly, the Upo festivities were also held on July 19th, bringing together residents from Zeberio and Zaratamo at the mountain summit for the txuzo ceremony and a dance exhibition.
