The Zeberio City Council will launch a free taxi service on the night of September 5th, coinciding with the Sandoniak festivities. The service will cover the route between Ugao and Igoerre, operating from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Those wishing to use the service must call 609 610 855 to make a reservation.
This year's Sandoniak festivities will take place from September 2nd to 7th, in the Zubialde neighborhood. The Festival Committee and various local stakeholders, with the support of the City Council, have organized activities for all residents. A major novelty this year is the show 'Zerua lapurtu digute' by Pirritx, Porrotx and Marimotots, aimed at children.
The program includes various events, such as elektrotxarangas (mobile brass bands), gastronomic competitions, children's games, and concerts featuring the bands Eingo taldea, Alarma Morea, EH Sukarra, and Kiliki. Additionally, there will be a lunch for seniors, handball matches, and several street parades.
Furthermore, the local band Tukanon will perform a concert during the Bilbao Aste Nagusia (Grand Week) on August 27th, at the Euskalgunea. The group consists of Marina Urigoitia Aldekoak (Artea), Ibon Igartua Libarona (Zeberio), Iban Sandonis Oleaga (Zeberio), and Iñigo Gallastegi Zorrilla (Zeberio).
Additionally, San Bartolomé Day will be celebrated on August 24th in the Urizarre neighborhood, with a mass and a reception. The Upo festivities were also held on July 19th, bringing together residents from Zeberio and Zaratamo at the summit of the mountain for the traditional 'txuzo' ceremony and a dance performance.
Finally, a section of a house collapsed in the Elizondo neighborhood of Zeberio, prompting firefighters to install a monitoring system. For safety reasons, residents of the adjacent dwelling have had to be temporarily relocated.
