The Basauri City Council has launched the awareness campaign "For clean festivities, enjoy without leaving a trace!", aiming to make the San Miguel and San Fausto festivities cleaner and more sustainable.

This initiative promotes the recycling and proper management of waste generated during the celebrations. To achieve this, posters have been displayed on the metro, the interurban bus service, bus shelters, the municipal website, and social media.
In collaboration with the Local Groups and the association Mikelats, materials and containers will be provided to facilitate the organized and selective collection of waste, particularly during the community meals. At culinary events, selective waste collection bins will be available, identified with explanatory vinyls, and a decalogue with simple guidelines for waste separation and recycling will be distributed.
During the San Fausto festivities, an information tent will be set up at the group meal, the 'indaba-jatea', and the 'Karparmartxo', where specialized staff will offer advice and assistance for proper waste management.
As a complement to the campaign, 2,500 fans made from bamboo fiber and RPET (recycled plastic) will be distributed. This initiative aims to promote the reuse of plastic waste and raise public awareness about the importance of adopting more sustainable and environmentally friendly habits.
Furthermore, on October 16th, at 7:00 PM, in Pedro López square, a workshop for making musical instruments from recycled materials has been organized. Pre-registration is required to participate, and participants will be able to take their instruments home at the end of the activity.
