The Igartubeiti Farmhouse Museum has reached its quarter-century mark this year, blending tradition and contemporaneity through collaboration with various groups, associations, and visitors. To celebrate this milestone, a special festival titled “Weaving the Apple: 25 Years Online” has been organized for September 26th in Segura.
The events will commence at 4:30 PM and invite children and teachers from Ezkio-Itsaso, local residents, suppliers, and friends of the museum who form the Igartubeiti community. Participants will collectively construct an apple-shaped structure, combining wicker and creativity. This work will involve assembling pieces made of wicker by students and teachers from the Ezkio-Itsaso school in April, guided by artisan Itziar de La Granja. The base of the apple has been crafted by wood artisan Daniel Allen from Made in Segura.
The museum explains that the apple is not just a fruit but a symbol of the network woven over these years, representing connection, collaboration, and a space where each story merges to form something greater. Each willow branch serves as a reminder that the museum thrives thanks to the participation of all individuals, and that together, beauty, memory, and community can be built.
This activity celebrates collective strength, shared memory, and the commitment to continue growing together. Additionally, on September 26th, attendees will have the opportunity to build a haystack, engaging in another collective endeavor. Both actions reflect the dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, as well as the museum's collaborative work over the past 25 years.
