Irun's cultural programming continues strongly post-summer. Music, theater, comedy, and various formats make up the offer for the coming months, with names like James Rhodes, Ara Malikian, and Dani Martínez, with events primarily taking place at the Amaia KZ and the CBA Cultural and Creativity Center.
Nuria Alzaga, Deputy Mayor and Culture Delegate of Irun, accompanied by Isaac Palencia, Director of Cultural Promotion and Youth of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, presented the main cultural lines. Alzaga stated, "Culture in Irun doesn't end with summer. We continue to build a diverse program, capable of bringing together big names and, at the same time, proposals for theater, music, comedy, or more intimate formats for very different audiences. That combination is important because we understand Culture as much more than a succession of shows: it's a way to meet, enjoy, think, and also build the city".
Alzaga added, "That we can enjoy artists like James Rhodes, Ara Malikian, or Dani Martínez in Irun also speaks to a city that wants to offer a quality cultural program with ambition, without renouncing other languages, other formats, and new proposals. We want there to be more and more reasons to visit the Amaia KZ, the CBA, and the city's other cultural spaces".
Isaac Palencia highlighted the "En clave de Rhodes" program as a good representation of the culture promoted by public institutions: "a culture that is close, generates critical thinking, questions stereotypes, and opens conversations on issues that affect us as a society, such as mental health, roots, childhood, or social awareness. Music and words become tools here to listen to each other, understand each other better, and reinforce coexistence".
Thus, "En clave de Rhodes" will arrive on September 25th at 7:00 PM at the Amaia KZ. This intimate interview and conversation program, hosted by British pianist James Rhodes, will feature Irun-born screenwriter Diego San José as a special guest. This initiative by the Irun City Council, supported by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, offers attendees the chance to experience this Cadena SER radio program live.
Later, on December 4th, Lebanese musician Ara Malikian will return to the Amaia KZ. The virtuoso violinist is known for his eclectic style, blending classical music with elements of Armenian, Oriental, Flamenco, and Tango folklore.
For comedy fans, Dani Martínez will take the stage on April 17th, 2027, filling the cultural center with laughter. The renowned television presenter and impressionist has an extensive career in television, film, and numerous theaters across Spain.
The cultural offer in Irun for the upcoming autumn will be diverse. Starting on September 19th, 2026, narrator Olvido Flores will present a small-format show at the CBA's Irun Zuzenean hall, sharing testimonies from the Spanish Civil War through objects, poetry, and circus.
On September 29th, the same venue will host concerts by J13, CheckBoyz, and DJ Mend3S, offering a fresh and powerful rap experience. J13 is a notable rapper from Madrid's underground scene, CheckBoyz is a young collective from the Urola Valley, and Mend3S will blend urban sounds.
In October, on the 10th, the musical comedy "No me toques el cuento" will arrive at the Amaia KZ. It tells the story of four princesses who rebel against the traditional fairy tale ending.
A day later, on October 11th, the same cultural center will host the play "Divinas palabras", considered Valle-Inclán's most universal work.
