With joy and gratitude, journalist Arritxu Iribar accepted the tribute offered by the Basque cycling world today, immediately after the conclusion of the final stage of the Itzulia Basque Country. Cycling is her favorite sport, and this recognition comes as she nears the end of her professional journey.
“"It is very, very beautiful to give such an end to one's professional career. I don't think I deserved it, many journalists have passed through and have not received such a farewell; I had all of them in mind at those moments."
She expressed her heartfelt thanks to those who honored her and emphasized that she will continue to be involved in cycling, primarily by cheering from the roadside. The organizers of the Itzulia praised Iribar's contribution to cycling and her career at Euskadi Irratia on social media.
The Lokatza Cycling School from Bergara (Gipuzkoa) also participated in today's tribute. This year, the significant cycling event concluded its final stage in Bergara.
