The Hernani team secured a clear victory in the return leg of the inter-town handball championship's round of 16 last Friday. Held at the Hernani fronton, they defeated Aretxabaleta in all three categories: 22-1 in cadets, 22-6 in juniors, and 22-17 in seniors.

Despite holding a significant advantage from the first leg, the Hernani players did not relax and delivered a strong performance in the return match. This win sees them comfortably through to the quarterfinals.

In the next phase, they will face Azpeitia. The first leg will be played this week in Hernani, with the return match taking place next week in Azpeitia.

Azpeitia also advanced in their round of 16 tie against Amezketa. The first leg matches were closely contested: 19-22 in cadets, 5-22 in juniors, and 22-21 in seniors. However, in the return leg, Azpeitia demonstrated clear dominance with scores of 22-2, 22-10, and 22-9 respectively.
