The Board of Spokespersons of the Errenteria Town Council wished to express its sorrow and firm condemnation following the unfortunate incident that occurred on Sunday morning in the Kaputxinoak neighborhood. The council has extended its condolences to the victim's family, friends, and loved ones for the loss of a life.
According to the council, no conflict or dispute, whatever its origin, can be resolved through violence, and it has deemed the use and carrying of bladed weapons an unacceptable risk, incompatible with coexistence based on respect, security, and dialogue.
Understanding the concern and distress that such serious events cause among citizens, the council reiterates its commitment to continue working to strengthen prevention, security, and coexistence in all neighborhoods of Errenteria, in collaboration with other institutions and social agents.
Respecting the ongoing investigations, they have stated that they fully reject these serious events and are confident they will be fully clarified.
Finally, it has reaffirmed its commitment to a just, safe, respectful, and cohesive society, noting that Sunday's events are not a reflection of the values they share and defend as a society.
