To mark the 140th anniversary of the San Sebastian Tramway Company (DTK), citizens will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the work carried out by the company. These guided tours are free for people of all ages and will be held on Saturday, September 19th (in Spanish) and Sunday, September 20th (in Basque), both starting at 11:00 AM.
Registration is now open. Interested individuals can sign up by calling Dbus's phone numbers (900 840 146 / 943 000 200) or by writing to the email address info@dbus.eus. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. When registering, participants must indicate the number of people attending and their ages.
The tours will provide insights into Dbus's operational areas and showcase the latest technological innovations implemented by the company in recent years. Notably, these include the systems that led Dbus to win the award for the best public transport operator with the best ticketing system at the "Transport Ticketing Awards" in 2025.
Furthermore, following last year's success, an itinerant exhibition on Dbus's history has been prepared for this year. This exhibition will commence in Larratxo on September 16th, offering visitors the chance to learn about Dbus's evolution from its founding in 1886 to the present day. The exhibition will later travel to Antiguo and Amara.
In conjunction with the exhibition, and in collaboration with Agabus (Association of Friends of the Bus of Gipuzkoa), a 1980s Mercedes model bus will be available for viewing from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This bus exemplifies the significant transformation in public transport over the past 40 years.
