This year's swimming season, which ran from June 13th to September 13th, registered a total of 54,465 users. This figure represents a 15% increase compared to the previous season, which had 47,204 users. The Council began tracking user numbers in 2005, and according to data, 2009 was the busiest year with 55,056 users. Thus, the current season has become the second most attended, falling just 591 users short of the 2009 record.
Broken down by month, the figures are as follows: June (13th-30th) had 16,440 users, July saw 24,465, August recorded 9,348, and September (up to the 13th) had 4,332. July was the month with the highest attendance by a significant margin.
The busiest days of the season were July 21st, with 2,313 users; followed by July 23rd (1,988) and July 5th (1,475).
Elgoibar Kirolak has 4,608 season ticket holders, maintaining the same number as last year. Council officials emphasized that this data demonstrates the "solid base" of regular users. The Elgoibar City Council expressed satisfaction with these figures, reaffirming that the pools are an essential space for citizens, not only for recreation and leisure but also as a cool and safe refuge during heatwaves. This year, in fact, the pool hours were extended during days with a red heat alert.
