The Ertzaintza has arrested a woman, who worked as a domestic employee, and her partner in Donostia and Astigarraga, accused of stealing jewelry valued at 70,000 euros from a home in the Gipuzkoan capital.

The Ertzaintza arrested two individuals last Thursday in Donostia and Astigarraga, charged with a home invasion robbery. The detainees are a 33-year-old woman, who was employed as a domestic worker, and her 22-year-old romantic partner.
According to the Basque Department of Security, the events unfolded on April 6, when the Ertzaintza received a complaint regarding the theft of various pieces of jewelry from a residence in Donostia. Some of these items were of high value, with the total estimated at 70,000 euros.
The following day, the complainant expressed suspicion towards her domestic employee. Consequently, an investigation was launched, leading to the recovery of some of the stolen jewelry from gold buying and selling establishments, although other pieces had already been melted down. The sales contracts listed the domestic worker and her partner as the sellers.
Following their arrests, the individuals were taken to police facilities for the necessary proceedings. During a search conducted this Friday in the room where the couple resided, additional jewelry was found, and its origin will be investigated. Once the proceedings are finalized, the detainees will be brought before a judge.
