The III Basque Country Bolo Palma Marathon took place on August 29th in three bowling alleys in Elgeta and Angiozar: the bowling alley in the Zabaleta neighborhood (12:00 PM), Salbadorko (5:00 PM), and Elgeta (8:00 PM). The championship featured an unusual format, as the requirement to play in three different bowling alleys necessitated their preparation.
As observed in the last two editions, this format poses a unique challenge for the players, who must adapt to the distinct characteristics of each bowling alley.
The winner, in addition to receiving the championship cap (txapela), was awarded a prize of 150 euros. The next four finishers also received prizes: second place received 75 euros, third place 50 euros, fourth place a meal for two at the bowling alley, and fifth place a selection of garden produce.
Similar to previous editions, a meal was organized as part of the bolo palma marathon. It took place at 2:00 PM in the Zabaleta neighborhood, with the menu consisting of Russian salads, chicken, desserts, and drinks.
Registration was due by August 25th at the Elgeta bowling alley. On August 24th, however, registration was also possible in Zabaleta, taking advantage of the celebration of the San Bartolomé festivities. The participation fee was 20 euros.
