In line with its commitment to energize and revitalize local trade, the Elgoibar City Council has launched a new voucher campaign called Bizi-Bizixa. The deadline for businesses to join this initiative is from September 7th to September 18th (inclusive). This project is part of the Council's strategic line to promote local economic development.
Maialen Gurrutxaga, the mayor of Elgoibar, stated, "Promoting commerce is one of our goals, as it is a vital engine for keeping our town alive. This initiative has been created in collaboration with local businesses, and alongside it, we have other ongoing projects aimed at the same objective: fostering, maintaining, or transferring new businesses."
Applications to participate in the campaign must be submitted electronically through the Elgoibar City Council website, www.elgoibar.eus, via the electronic headquarters. Self-employed individuals, community of goods, civil partnerships, and micro-enterprises are eligible for these grants, provided their establishment is located in Elgoibar.
The Council will invest 30,000 euros in this campaign and will make 4,000 commercial vouchers available. Citizens will receive a 25% discount on their purchases, and the vouchers can be redeemed until November 30th at participating stores.
Purchases must be a minimum of 5 euros and a maximum of 60 euros per transaction. The discounts will be applied proportionally to the purchase amount; for example, a 20 euro purchase will receive a 5 euro subsidy. Vouchers must be purchased at the point of sale.
The 4,000 vouchers will be distributed equitably among all participating establishments. The terms and conditions are available at www.elgoibar.eus.
