Hundreds of people gathered yesterday in Urduña's Foru Square to denounce the serious gender-based aggressions that occurred during the Otxomaio festivities and to show solidarity.

In the protest called by the festival coordination committee, "solidarity and support" were shown to women who have suffered aggressions, making it clear that "there is no justification for gender violence". Attendees proclaimed that gender violence "has no place in Urduña" and called for a "collective response" to combat it.
They also recalled the existence of "resources for attention and support" specifically prepared for the festivities, such as the purple point and the protocol activated at the txosnas (stalls).
The festival organizers emphasized the importance of responding "as a community", "caring for each other and with zero tolerance for gender violence". Therefore, they asked "the entire municipality" to "commit to building festivities based on respect and equality".
