The Provincial Council of Álava has confirmed that the Lantenoko fire is under control and stabilized after several days of incidents. Extinction efforts will continue today, utilizing a helicopter and fire brigades. As explained by the Ayuntamiento de Ayala, access roads to the affected areas have been cleared, and the situation has improved. In light of this, the local authority has announced that the Etxaurren swimming pools will be opened.
Once the most critical phase has passed, the Provincial Council of Álava will begin investigating the cause of the fire. The institution's main hypothesis is that the fire did not originate naturally but was caused by humans. Deputy Iñaki Guturbai stated in an interview with SER radio that they cannot determine if it was intentionally started, but they will have to wait until the fire is completely extinguished to ascertain the "anthropogenic causes".

This event has also led to gestures of solidarity. Members of the Amurrio Solidarity Txosna have announced they will donate all money collected today to the Lantenoko Council. Currently, the fire has not caused personal injuries, although several farmhouses had to be evacuated. Regarding the environment, estimates suggest that between 75 and 100 hectares of forest have been burned in total.
