This initiative will take place in Aiaraldea, specifically at the Laudio Institute, Latiorro School (Laudio), and Zaraobe Institute (Amurrio), from April 15 to 24. Additionally, on April 25, special collections will be held in Lamuza Plaza in Laudio and in front of the Eroski and Dia supermarkets in Amurrio, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Blackouts and fuel shortages have become a common reality and are affecting all areas of daily life, including transportation, access to food and water, healthcare, and education.
The organizers have emphasized that the situation in Cuba is “very serious,” attributing this reality to the isolationist and criminal policy that the United States has maintained against the island since the revolution. The blockade has intensified in recent years, especially during Donald Trump's administration, also increasing the threat of military intervention.
For this collection, various types of products are requested: sanitary material (medicines expiring after June 2027, medical instruments, gloves, condoms), hygiene material (pads, tampons, diapers), cleaning material (brooms, mops), non-perishable food (cans, pasta, legumes, powdered milk, oil, expiring after January 2027), nutritional supplements (vitamins, minerals, Omega3), sports equipment (balls, rackets, bicycles), and school supplies (pencils, notebooks). Textbooks or encyclopedias will not be collected.
