The Agility Pawer club has chosen Artziniega to host its summer agility competition. The sporting event will take place this and the next weekend, on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th, and 30th, at the Barcena sports area. Admission will be free, and the public can attend to watch the competitions starting from 2:00 PM on Fridays and 9:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays.
Organizers anticipate broad participation, with over 350 dogs registered. Competitors will come from various parts of Spain and internationally, including from France, Ireland, and Slovenia.
The City Council has announced that the football field, sports center, parking lot, and school will be occupied during these dates. More than 60 caravans and vans are expected.
Agility is a dog sport that involves navigating an obstacle course as quickly as possible. The Artziniega event will not be the first of its kind in the region; in 2022, the Euskadi Sextuple Agility Championship was held in Okondo, and a similar competition took place in Urduña in 2016.
