The Euskadi Professional Tennis Circuit, which groups Basque professional tournaments integrated into the ITF World Tennis Tour calendar, kicks off this Sunday with a total of five official competitions.

The circuit will award $150,000 in prize money and grant points for the ATP and WTA rankings. It will span five consecutive weeks, covering Mungia, Bakio, Getxo, and Vitoria-Gasteiz, and will bring together players from over thirty countries.
Presented in Bilbao, the calendar comprises the Open Laukariz, the Open Kiroleta-Bakio Udala Saria, the men's and women's tournament at Real Club Jolaseta, and the Araba World Tennis Tour Femenino by Peña Vitoriana. All competitions will offer free public access and can be followed live via the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) streaming platforms.
The competition will commence in Mungia with the fifth edition of the Open Laukariz (M15), scheduled from June 14 to 20 on clay courts. Among the registered players are the Dutch duo Michiel de Krom and Ryan Nijboer, as well as Greece's Pavlos Tsitsipas, brother of former world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The second stop will be the Open Kiroleta - Bakio Udala Saria, celebrating its 41st edition from June 21 to 28. This M25 tournament, with $30,000 in prize money, will feature players such as France's Dan Added, his compatriot Robin Bertrand (2024 finalist), Britain's Max Basing, and Belgium's Michael Geerts.
The circuit will continue in Getxo with the 34th edition of the International Tennis Tournament of the Real Club Jolaseta, from June 27 to July 5. The Neguri club will simultaneously host a men's M15 tournament and a women's W15 tournament, both with $15,000 in prize money.
The final event will be the Araba World Tennis Tour Femenino, from July 12 to 19, at the Peña Vitoriana. This W75 tournament, with a prize fund of $75,000, has established itself as one of the main events on the women's circuit and has been recognized by the ITF.
Organizers have highlighted that the Basque tournaments have become a platform in recent years for players who have subsequently achieved prominent positions in international rankings.
Figures such as Roberto Bautista (top 9), Alejandro Davidovich (top 14), Fernando Verdasco (top 7), Jaume Munar, Pedro Martínez, Bernabé Zapata, Pedro Cachín, Carlos Taberner, Arthur Rinderknech, and Valentin Vacherot have passed through these competitions.
In the women's category, the list includes players like Garbiñe Muguruza, Paula Badosa, Mihaela Buzarnescu, and Valeriya Strakhova, as well as historical references of Spanish tennis such as Carla Suárez, Vivi Ruano, Gala León, and Anabel Medina, consolidating the circuit's prestige.
