This new planting has largely served to replace some trees that were removed due to poor condition, with new ones that can better endure in the future and adapt to current environmental conditions.
“"New gardens, new plantings, and new trees will be created. But there has been an urban development change where some species have been maintained, and others had to be cut down due to the project. However, new green areas will be created, we are clear about that."
A delegate from the Public Works, Maintenance, and Infrastructure area of the council was responsible for presenting this initiative, thanking citizen participation for informing the city council about the condition of some trees and the need to plant more in other areas.
Regarding the city's nature, a month ago several trees were cut down in the San Miguel Anaka area due to a comprehensive urban change for the start of works on a new development, which led to protests from some environmental associations. The delegate stated that new green areas will be created, despite the need to remove some specimens for the project.
Finally, it was added that they are aware of the need to cut grass in various areas of the city, thanks to information received from residents. Brigades are working daily in various areas, maintaining parks and cutting grass, and are committed to reaching all areas. If any point is overlooked or the situation is deemed unacceptable, citizens are encouraged to report it to act as soon as possible.
