Spring in Vitoria-Gasteiz is set to be vibrant with a packed calendar of cultural and sporting events, promising to energize every corner of the city and province. Following Easter, the Alavese capital awakens with a diverse agenda combining music, poetry, art, theater, cinema, and sports, offering plans for all tastes and ages.
Culturally, The Champions Burger festival will take place from April 9 to 19 in the Buesa Arena parking lot, attracting fast-food enthusiasts. Subsequently, on April 28, the traditional pilgrimage of San Prudencio will be held in Armentia, featuring its characteristic stalls and festive atmosphere. On May 1, the Estíbaliz fair will return with activities and the classic open-air painting competition.
Poetry lovers can enjoy the Poetas en Mayo / Poetak Maiatzean festival from May 3 to 30, which will fill the city and province with verses. For urban music fans, the Presión Urbana Fest will arrive at the Buesa Arena on May 9, with Omar Montes headlining. The new BatBatean festival will debut in Mendizabala on May 15 and 16, featuring groups like Gozategi and Kaos Etiliko.
The Festival de las Flores will return to the streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz from May 22 to 24, beautifying monuments and squares with floral art. Kaldearte, the street performing arts festival, will run from June 12 to 14, filling the squares with theater, music, and circus. Rock enthusiasts have a date with the Azkena Rock Festival from June 18 to 20, featuring artists of the caliber of Alice Cooper and Social Distortion. Finally, Korterraza, the short film festival, will be held from June 24 to 27, with a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of March 3.
In the sports arena, the Arena Games CrossFit championship will take place on April 18 and 19 at the Buesa Arena, breaking participation records. The popular Subida a Estíbaliz race will be held on April 19. The Martín Fiz Marathon will return to downtown Vitoria-Gasteiz on May 10. The Araba Rugby Cup will gather 1,200 children in the Lakua fields on May 16 and 17. The Women's Race will be celebrated on May 31, and the Vi Half triathlon on June 6, starting at the Ullibarri Gamboa reservoir and finishing in the center of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
