Vitoria-Gasteiz has been announced as the host city for the 18th edition of the Inclusion in Performing Arts and Music Conference, following the recent event at the Auditorio de Tenerife, aiming to foster cultural diversity and accessibility.
The 17th edition of the Inclusion in Performing Arts and Music Conference, organized by the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM), recently concluded at the Auditorio de Tenerife. During this event, it was announced that Vitoria-Gasteiz would be the host city for the 18th edition.
The Department of Culture and Education has enthusiastically embraced this challenge, emphasizing the significant impact it will have on the city by offering a transformative and innovative approach. This initiative aims to facilitate the sharing of experiences, highlight best practices, foster professional networking, and raise awareness across the entire performing arts and music sector regarding inclusion.
In recent years, the context has changed considerably, with an increase in networks and spaces for reflection with similar objectives. Inclusive and community-based practices have gained ground, and sensitivity towards these issues has progressively integrated into cultural policies and programming. In this scenario, Vitoria-Gasteiz will host the next edition to continue the discussion on this topic.
The INAEM's Inclusion in Performing Arts and Music Conferences, which began in Madrid in 2009, have become an annual benchmark for promoting diversity and cultural accessibility. They have been held in various Spanish cities, including Tarragona (2024), Cádiz (2023), and Valencia (2022).
