The Pilar Civic Center and the San Andres Sports Facility are marking their 20th anniversary this year, with a series of events organized to celebrate the occasion.
To highlight the anniversary, the "Tejiendo relaciones" group, a project led by local women that uses fabrics and wool to foster an intergenerational meeting point at the Francisco de Vitoria BHI, has prepared a large number 20. This number is displayed in the window alongside a congratulatory message drawn by the staff of the playroom and the meeting area.
In the same window, works by students from the Photography and Digital SLR course 2025-2026 are also exhibited. The selected photographs aim to reflect what this community facility means to its users and will be on display throughout the year.
Regarding the scheduled activities, on the 25th and 27th of this month, power walking sessions will take place. This 5-kilometer route will start from the civic center and pass through the neighborhoods of Pilar, Txagorritxu, and Gazalbide. Pre-registration is not required.
On the 26th, an event will be held to officially present the anniversary. Specialist Alberto García will provide explanations about the origin of the civic center. Following this, a panel discussion will take place with staff who initiated the project, users, and current team members.
The mural, logo, and anniversary slogan, created by illustrator and civic center librarian Patricia Fernández, will also be unveiled during this event.
