Gazte Plaza Returns to Bring Life to Vitoria-Gasteiz's Historic Quarter

The second edition of this cultural event will gather young artists on April 18th, offering free music, theater, and workshops for all ages.

The second edition of Gazte Plaza is set to revitalize Vitoria-Gasteiz's Historic Quarter on April 18th, showcasing the talent of young artists through a diverse program of free music, theater, and workshops.

Young artists from Vitoria-Gasteiz will convene on Saturday, April 18th, to display their creativity and talent with over twenty free cultural proposals in the Historic Quarter. The event will feature concerts, workshops, theater performances, dance, painting, and various exhibitions, open to anyone wishing to attend that day.
While the activities are primarily aimed at an audience between 18 and 30 years old, admission will be free for all interested individuals. The organization of Gazte Plaza is led by a core group of six young people from different artistic disciplines, supported by the Municipal Youth Service.
The cultural program will be distributed across three distinct venues: Plaza Santa María, Plaza de la Burullería, and Plaza del Machete. Additionally, there will be itinerant activities. In Plaza del Machete, under the theme “Arnastu eta Sortu” (Breathe and Create), a market and “Pop up & Tardeo” will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A collective mural will also be created from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with experimental stamping from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In the afternoon, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the “Arte que se lleva puesto” (Wearable Art) stamping workshop will be offered. Furthermore, exhibitions and participatory workshops such as ceramics, the collective collage “Gasteizko Zatitxoak” (Fragments of Gasteiz), “La Piel del Espejo” (The Skin of the Mirror), Saharawi tea, and Fanzine Fugaz will be available from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
In Plaza Santa María, under the title “Mugitu” (Move), the “Modo avión” (Airplane Mode) performance will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In the afternoon, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Royal Battle will take place, followed by the Arabatar LGTBI film gathering from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. In Plaza de la Burullería, named “Entzun” (Listen), “Ahotsa Dantzan & Ahots Hutsean” (Voice Dancing & Voice in the Void) will be presented from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Classical Music for Youth can be enjoyed from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and Basque Music Decade by Decade from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Gastiez Gazte Jam Session will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by the Gazte Plaza Song from 8:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Nun concert will be offered from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and the Andriginaren gaztaroa Drag Show from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
In case of rain, activities scheduled for Plaza de la Burullería and Plaza Santa María will be relocated to the Aldabe Civic Center and the Campillo sports center, respectively.
