The Santa Cruz festivities in Zestoa have concluded with a children's drum parade, enjoying a sunny day. The parade featured a float dedicated to the Urola train, recalling local history and the importance of the spa.

Initially, due to fear of rain, the children's drum parade was planned to take place under the roof of the sports center. However, on Saturday at six in the evening, the sun and warmth prevailed, allowing the children to parade through the streets, bringing the Santa Cruz festivities to a close.
Drum groups, flag bearers, and the well-known characters from Zestoa's spa were the protagonists, performing San Sebastian tunes alongside the music band. Behind them, a float dedicated to the Urola train paraded, commemorating an important part of the town's history.

"A group of friends gathered, and we did it all together."

This float was created to celebrate the centenary of the Urola train's establishment. Zestoa had a strong connection with this train, especially due to its spa. At that time, most travelers arrived in town by train, and the station was one of the main entrances. There, Pepe the parrot, the station's mascot, was famous for imitating the train's whistle.
For the construction of the float, contact was made with the Azpeitia School of Art and Design, and a train float that had not been used in the Azpeitia drum parade was repurposed. Thus, this float, named Urola Zaharra, made the journey to Zestoa, receiving a warm welcome from the residents.
The two-day festivities were celebrated surrounded by people, and on Saturday, there was also a large drum parade. Eight groups participated, accompanied by the Zestoa Music Band, the Zumai txaranga, the Ustekabe txaranga, and the Azpeitia Municipal Music Band. This year, a special tribute was paid to Jesus Aizpurua 'Txispi', who was the director of the Lau Iturri group for many years, by playing the Debako martxa.
