Once again this year, the Zelatun romeria festivals will commence before September begins. The trikitixa players from Albiztur, the Arandia brothers, will take the stage on August 29th, San Juan Txiki day. Following tradition, the trikitixa will be the main focus of the romeria held on the slopes of Mount Ernio.
Those wishing to dine at one of the Zelatun farmhouses on that day must make a reservation in advance. Reservations can be made by calling Borda de Antonio (606 97 59 66) or Borda de Agirretxe (636 743 827).
The romerias will continue in Zelatun on the Sundays of September. This event, which attracts many people each year, will be enlivened by well-known trikitixa and pandero players.
This year's lineup includes: on September 6th, Saioa Lizarralde and Maddalen Arzalluse; on September 13th, Izer eta Alabier; on September 20th, Ostolaza eta Larrañaga; and finally, on September 27th, the Elizagoien sisters.
It is reminded that on Sundays in September, access to Zelatun by car from Errezil will be restricted, as the road will be closed at the Odria farmhouse. However, on other days of the year, the road will remain open.
