Zarautz U17 handball team starts State Championship Sector Phase with a victory

The U17 women's handball team from Zarautz has achieved a significant victory against Oviedo in the opening match of the State Championship Sector Phase, held at the Aritzbatalde sports center.

The U17 women's handball team representing Zarautz has made an excellent start to the State Championship Sector Phase. Under the guidance of coach Iker Ortiz, the local squad defeated Oviedo with a final score of 36-23 at the Aritzbatalde sports center. This initial triumph significantly boosts the team's chances for qualification.
On Saturday, the team will play its second match against the Galician team Chapela, starting at 7:00 PM. A win in this game would secure their top position in the group and a spot in the grand final on Sunday, where they would face the winner of the other group.

This victory gives us opportunities for the final.

Meanwhile, the U15 team participated in their Sector Phase last weekend in Girona. Coached by Jon Alzaga, the girls secured second place in their group by defeating Valencia (23-15) and losing to Zaragoza (22-16). They later competed for third place against BM Colindres, ultimately losing 24-16. Despite this, they finished fourth, marking it as a valuable experience for the team.
