The TradeInn Triathlon of Zarautz is celebrating its 40th anniversary this Saturday, marking the anniversary of the event that began in 1987. The organization has secured a stellar lineup, with all 650 available race numbers sold out. Last year's winners, Guillem Montiel and Alanis Siffert, lead the roster of distinguished athletes participating.
Among other notable names competing are Antonio Benito (2024 winner), Mikel Ugarte, Emile Blondel (European duathlon champion), Lilli Gelmini, Milan Agnew, and Helene Alberdi (recent Spanish Middle Distance champion and a Zarautz winner in 2022).
The course remains the traditional one: 2.8 kilometers of swimming from Getaria to Zarautz; 80 kilometers by bicycle, featuring ascents of Meagas and the climb to San Blas as highlights with gradients up to 20%; and a 20-kilometer run through the streets of Zarautz.
The women's race will start at 14:00, with the men's race commencing ten minutes later. The first finishers are expected to arrive around 18:00 at the town hall square.
