Erik Mendizabal from Mutriku and Ruben Bailo from Noain won the Bermeo MESI Master Series men's final last Saturday, September 5th, in two sets (15-13 and 15-11) against the pair of Aaron Gonzalez de Matauco and Ekhi Martinez from Gasteiz.
In the women's category, Erika Mugartegi from Markina-Xemein and Laura Rodriguez from Noain defeated Lur Lejardi and Alize Arriaga, also from Markina-Xemein, with a score of 15-12 and 15-5. Children from the Bermeo Zesta Punta School welcomed the day's protagonists.
Organizers have expressed a positive assessment of the tournament, which this year featured three events compared to last year's single-day competition. The goal is to extend and improve the championship, and to this end, dates and the number of women's matches will be reviewed.
