Bidasoa Irun has finished the Iberian Super Cup in fourth place after losing to FC Porto 32-25 in a match played at Vigo's IFEVI exhibition center before 1,200 spectators. Despite initial parity and quick attacks (8-7, 15th minute), the Portuguese team managed to open a gap midway through the first half (13-9, 20th minute). The team, led by Álex Mozas, struggled to maintain attacking fluidity in the final stretch, allowing Porto to pull away with a 19-14 lead before halftime.
In the second half, although the Irun-based team attempted to close the score, Porto continued to extend their advantage thanks to their goalkeeper's saves and efficiency (26-18, 45th minute). Despite the Bidasoa players fighting until the final minute, physical fatigue and the opponents' dominance led to the final 32-25 score.
For Bidasoa, Nieto was the top scorer with five goals. After this tournament, the team is fully focused on its ASOBAL League debut, where they will host Viveros Herol BM. Nava next Saturday at 6:00 PM at the Artaleku sports center.
