To enhance the festive atmosphere, the square will feature special lighting and Christmas decorations. The market will also include children's workshops and activities such as storytelling, puppet shows, magic, and musical entertainment. Tables and chairs will be provided for enjoying food and drinks, complementing the existing hospitality offerings.
The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, November 5. Eligible participants include businesses from Irun, artisans from Gipuzkoa (with preference given to those from Irun), and non-profit NGOs and associations from Irun.
First Deputy Mayor and Delegate for City Promotion and Economic Development, Nuria Alzaga, highlighted that "the Christmas Market is one of Irun's greatest assets during these special days. It provides a fundamental stimulus and boost to the local economy, transforming the Plaza del Ensanche and its surroundings into a meeting point that energizes the streets for the benefit of our own pockets."
This edition will allocate 18 stalls: 9 for crafts, 8 for commerce, and 1 for NGOs. The selection criteria will consider affinity with the Christmas theme, originality and variety of products, and preference will be given to participants who have not been involved in previous editions.
Participating businesses can choose from three available periods: December 11-22, December 23-January 5, or the full period from December 11 to January 5. If not all 18 stalls are filled, a second application period will be opened.
Applications can be submitted through the Irun City Council's Electronic Office (www.irun.org/sede), at the SAC (c/ San Marcial, 2), or via other legally established means. Full information is available on the municipal website.
