Oteitza Lizeo Politeknikoa, located in Zarautz, has organized an open day on May 5, offering prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore its innovative vocational training and Baccalaureate programs.

Oteitza Lizeo Politeknikoa, situated in the heart of Zarautz and just a few meters from the coast, is a leading educational institution in Vocational Training and Baccalaureate. Under the patronage of the Bitoriano Gandiaga Foundation, the center ensures a comprehensive educational offering in Basque, developing a pedagogical model based on proximity, quality, and innovation. With student well-being and integral development as its core focus, personalized teacher monitoring and the collaborative Ethazi methodology are the foundations of its daily activities.
In this context, Oteitza Lizeoa will open its doors next Tuesday, May 5, providing future students and families with the chance to get to know the center from within. During these visits, attendees can see the facilities firsthand, learn in depth about the academic offerings, and receive information on daily dynamics. The objective is clear: to showcase a center that provides solid and up-to-date training, oriented towards the labor market.
Innovation is one of Oteitza's main characteristics, pursued through various projects. Initiatives such as DRIVEMIND and Pick AI PRO are developed in collaboration with other educational centers, with teachers playing a central role. These projects aim to research and develop new technologies, as well as strengthen the digital and pedagogical competencies of educators. This allows the knowledge and tools generated to be transferred to classrooms in the future, enriching and updating the training of Vocational Training students in Euskadi.
Internationalization is also a fundamental pillar. Within the Erasmus+ program, students have the opportunity to undertake internships in various European countries, including Malta, and to develop projects in collaboration with institutions in Germany or the Netherlands. These experiences are not only academic: they offer a unique opportunity to develop personal autonomy, language skills, and intercultural competencies. All of this significantly increases student employability and makes them more competitive in the global labor market.
Regarding the academic offerings, a significant new addition this year is the technician cycle for care of people in situations of dependency. This cycle has been created to address the growing social need in Zarautz and its surrounding areas. With an aging society, there is an increasing demand for professionals in socio-sanitary care, and this cycle offers practical training and broad employment opportunities in residences, day centers, home care services, or within the social services sector.
Furthermore, Oteitza continues to strengthen its Dual model, allowing students to combine studies and work. Thanks to an extensive network of companies, many students gain contractual work experience while studying, facilitating their transition into employment.
